Futures
Software - Data Manipulation Maddock Futures Software allows the user to be able to update the daily prices from over 100 futures and key spot/cash markets from 14 exchanges from around the world. Manipulation of the data provided from the exchanges is essential to determine trends in the long term history of the particular instruments in your portfolio. The data can be seen in chart form or in tabular form using the Maddock Futures software or Maddock Charts software. As a futures trader and tester you will need to look to some extent at different variations and presentations of the futures data. Maddock Futures software allows the user to see the data in three variations that compliment each other:
The three variations of contracts are updated automatically as part of the daily update routine. Maddock Charts The data can also be displayed using Maddock Charts software (supplied with your futures subscription) which allows the user to utilise the following indicators:
Maddock Charts allows the user to see a cross section of instruments across all the Maddock Data International range. You can therefore monitor Forex, futures and stocks displayed in different "Libraries" at the same time if you are trading or testing across an instrument diversified portfolio. Currency Converter Module The currency converter allows the user to see what the latest Forex rates are to convert between currencies against the US dollar. The service is dynamic which means each day the conversion rates will be updated to reflect real time rates. Futures Calculator Module If you are new to trading, then sometimes tick size, contract size, the position of the decimal point, fractional quotes, profits and losses between entry and exits can be confusing. Maddock Futures software has a futures calculator module that alleviates much of this confusion by allowing the user to enter entry and exit points to determine profits and also see contract specifications for the particular instrument which are kept dynamically updated. Moneymanagement Module The concept of controlling risk is essential to remaining a profitable trader in the markets. The Moneymanagement module allows the user to calculate risk on a per instrument per contract basis. The trader therefore will want to know how many contracts of a particular instrument he can trade on any particular day. Known in advance are the following:
By inputting the above, a calculation will be made of how many contracts to trade. Also, a more advanced concept is Risk Equalisation. The Risk Equalisation platform allows the trader to determine the same degree of exposure between differing instruments on the basis of recent volatility. Volatility is determined using the average true range concept which the number of days factor used in the calculation is fully adjustable. |
